Foam pool floats are much stronger in durability because they don't deflate. Even if you put a knife thru them they won't go flat because they have foam inside. Inflatables have the risk of going flat. You can always repair them but it's a problem. Inflatable pool floats are convenient for storage and carrying with you to trips because they can deflate to very small sizes. I personally prefer foam pool floats in my pool. They are more comfortable and durable.
